Week One: Complete

I'm absolutely exhausted, so I apologize in advance if this is somewhat incoherent.

This past week has been jam packed with stuff to do and even when there was time to just chill for a while, we had to chill in French.  Speaking, thinking, and imitating people in French is ridiculously tiring, and I'm ready to fall into bed for about the next 12 hours.  Luckily tomorrow is Saturday, so I can fais la grasse matinée (sleep in).

A bunch of my friends and I found this great boulangerie yesterday with delicious sandwiches (I had la oceanique which reminds me of Lost, and has tuna, tomatoes, lettuce, and eggs on a baguette) and unbelievable desserts.  Yesterday I had fondant chocolat, and today when we returned I had a mushroom quiche with a tartette de chocolat.  Each meal was under six euros, including the main course, dessert, and a drink.  It's amazing how good some of the cheap food is here.

We registered for classes and I decided to suck up my nerves and sign up for the un-droppable theater course which will culminate in a very public play starring me and the other members of the class (I think there are about 6 or 7 of us).  Did I mention it will be in public?  In French?  In front of all our classmates and native French speakers?  Ohmygod.

My guidance counselor told me that I really should take a course at the local university, but I wasn't about to be pressured into more academia, so I held strong and signed up only for classes held at the center.  I don't need any extra stress in my life, and I'm not considering graduate school, so there's really no point in spending a lot of time in a very difficult university class.  I do plan to do some SUAPS, which are sport classes, so that I can meet French people my age.  I'm looking at yoga, tango, and trampoline classes.

My computer's about to die and I"m about to fall asleep, so I'll leave off here.

Tomorrow holds the great search for the perfect pair of combat boots (I'm currently torn between silver glitter Doc Martins, classic black Docs, and a pair of boots I found today that are black and covered with spider webs.  Hmmm....)

Bisous!
